We will provide live Athlete Updates for the 5 Miler. You can sign up via the participant guide sent out one week prior to race day.
Do I need my ID for the post race celebration?
/in Race Information /by r2rprogrammerYou will need a wrist bracelet provided by the event organizer in order to drink beer at the post race celebration. You can get this bracelet by showing us your ID at packet pickup (special ID Check booth) or at the post race celebration. Participants receive beer tickets with their registration. Additional tickets can be purchased at the celebration for any spectators.
Are there time limits?
/in Race Information /by r2rprogrammerWe must have all participants cleared off the boardwalk by 5:45 PM so the City can open the boardwalk for their holiday lights event. Walkers are welcome.
Is there a dry bag check?
/in Race Information /by r2rprogrammerYes, dry bag check will be available inside the lobby/prefunction area of the Virginia Beach Convention Center. As a safety requirement, every runner will receive a clear plastic bag at packet pick-up that MUST be used for your gear check bag. We WILL NOT accept any other bags. All bibs will include a gear check tag that will need to be removed from your bib and tied to the bag before you turn it into gear check at the race.
Are headphones allowed during the race?

Are baby joggers, strollers or pets allowed during the race?

Yes, baby joggers and strollers are allowed. You must include your child’s information during your registration (there is no additional charge). If you did not include your child during registration, please visit the Help Desk at the Sports & Fitness Expo to add your child.
Baby joggers and strollers are not allowed in corrals 1-2, so you must be in corral 3 or higher and seed yourself at the back of your assigned corral. It is your responsibility to make sure your baby jogger/stroller does not impede other runners, and you must take extra precaution to ensure your safety, your child’s safety, and the safety of the runners around you. We reserve the right to pull any participant from the race who is endangering other runners or themselves.
Pets
Pets are not permitted in any of the J&A Racing events.
Will there be an awards ceremony? What are the award categories?

Will there be hydration and energy gels on the course?
/in Race Information /by r2rprogrammerNo, there will not be energy gels handed out on the course. Water stops will be provided at Miles 2 and 4. Water and Nuun Sport Hydration will be available.
